Mitcham Primary School

Muddy in winter, rock hard and dusty in summer, the school lacked an even playing field for physical education classes and active play. Grassports Australia upgraded this school oval into a multi-purpose play space and sports field which can be utilised all year round.

Mitcham Primary School chose Grassports Australia as they were impressed by our range of Australian made products. Our design expertise, clear communication and in-house experienced construction team were also a reassuring factor.

The multisport oval accommodates soccer and AFL multi goals, plus a four-lane running track including one lane which leads into a long-jump pit. A 40mm surface was used on the oval with 19mm synthetic grass for the track and surrounds. New fencing was installed to finish off the perimeter.

Over 700 Mitcham Primary School students now use the facility daily, as well as those attending school holiday programs. There is also a possibility hiring the facility to community groups after school hours, potentially generating revenue for the school.
