“Tennis coaches, students and casual user groups alike are delighted with the result… the courts play very well.”

- CHRIS HORSLEY,  HEAD COACH, QUEENWOOD TENNIS & SPORTS CENTRE

Recommended by Tennis NSW, Grassports Australia achieved an outstanding transformation, meeting budget and solving structural issues by drawing on more than 45 years experience.

With machinery access a site problem, Grassports Australia used their vast industry expertise to solve existing base issues, installing a specialised acrylic tennis court surfacing system designed to bridge over moving or cracked substrates. This revised the original plan to re-asphalt four of the 12 courts that were resurfaced and thus solved cost, site access and existing substrate issues.

The Centre boasts 12 courts altogether, with 10 being ITF Classified, sand filled synthetic grass and two with the latest in cushioned acrylic surface technology. Damaged fencing to some of the courts was also replaced.

The construction took place over a period of 50 days and included 6000m2 of synthetic grass, 150 tonnes (10 truck loads) of sand, 1500m2 of rubber underlay made from recycled tennis balls and 1500m2 of acrylic surfacing.

Approximately 500 people will use the facility every week year-round.
