“The results are amazing… On both occasions our experience with Grassports has been nothing but positive… we would not hesitate in recommending Grassports.”
– LYN RODDA, PRINCIPAL
Almost a decade and a half ago, Grassports Australia built the oval at Solway Primary School and after many years of use by active students and an incredible amount of foot traffic, the surface was ready to be renewed. Successful in the tender process due to our proven success and industry expertise, we set to work rejuvenating this sports facility.
Works included removing the existing surface and re-grading the base before installing 3500m2 of long pile synthetic grass for the oval itself and short pile for surrounding areas. With rubber infill and almost 90 tonnes of sand, this functional sports space will service the school and local community for many more years to come.
Design features included a cricket wicket and the addition of a two-lane running track surrounding the oval space, a long jump run up and new pit cover. Additional landscape works near the bike racks were also carried out to further improve the functionality and appearance of the school environment.
